Research at the NPC is structured as a collaborative effort, conducted by a distributed network of researchers from around the country. The NPC draws heavily on University of Michigan-based scholars from a wide variety of disciplines. In addition, over forty nationally prominent poverty researchers and analysts participate in NPC research activities.

The researchers listed below undertake new research funded by the NPC, contribute to volumes, present their findings at conferences or policy roundtables, teach workshops for younger researchers, and participate in ongoing dialogues intended to stimulate new research.
